For generations, E.K. Blessing has offered an affordable large bore F-attachment trombone for the advanced trombonist without compromising on build quality and playability. Approved by educators for decades, the classic B88 was a traditional first choice for a serious student, laying the foundation in high school bands across the USA.

The new BTB1488 trombones are an evolution of this legacy. Design refinement in the hand-slide construction and body bracing offer a more resonant instrument that is responsive and easier to play with fantastic projection. At Blessing, our core values remain the same. The BTB1488 Performance trombones offer accessibility to a path for rapid growth and musical development along with a modern playing experience that rival many professional models.

BTB1488OS Resistance and sound = Freer Blowing / More Open. Very resonant with better projection and rich character particularly at louder dynamic levels.

Open Wrap: The term wrap refers to the configuration of additional tubing for the F-attachment section of the trombone. The open wrap has fewer bends and a straighter pathway for the air; providing a freer blowing option.

Yellow Brass Bell: (70% copper 30% zinc) – Yellow brass offers a consistent timbre at all dynamic levels and registers with wonderful projection.

Silver Plate Finish: Silver plating is thinner than lacquer providing more resonance and brilliance, which is ideal for outdoor performance. However, a silverplated horn will require more maintenance because it will tarnish over time.

A good Mellophone section is the heart of any great marching ensemble sound. The Blessing BM111 provides the classic, gorgeous horn voicing with more depth and projection power. It is sturdy enough for any marching situation. Bell forward, the sound is focused and designed to project off the field and into the stands.

Clear Lacquer Finish. A finish preference is dictated by the demands of a marching band, uniformity, or personal taste. Lacquer is a clear epoxy coating applied to protect the natural shiny finish of polished brass. The tone is warm, clear, and focused. It is less expensive and easier to maintain.

Silver Plate Finish. Silver plating is a richer looking finish. Because it is thinner compared to a lacquer finish, the sound is more responsive and resonant with added brilliance and better overall projection. It is considered more durable but does require extra maintenance.

The BM311 is a forward bell baritone with a huge, resonant sound. It is designed with a large shank mouthpiece and large bore allowing for greater blowing freedom to facilitate the volume demands of outdoor playing. The compact wrap design affords a balanced, focused sound making the BM311 an excellent choice for any marching band in a parade or on the field.
